Mortdale’s much-loved local club has opened a new chapter, with a new name, new dining and a renewed commitment to the community it has served since 1969.
After more than five decades as the St. George Masonic Club (Maso’s), the Mortdale venue has officially relaunched as The Boundary, following a $5 million renovation and rebrand by St. George Venues.
The venue, located at 86 Roberts Avenue, Mortdale, officially transitioned to The Boundary on Thursday 1 October.
The new name comes from Boundary Road, the road that links Mortdale, Peakhurst, Penshurst, Riverwood and beyond. It has always brought this community together, and that is exactly what the club has done since 1969. The name honours that history while pointing to the future, with the club continuing to connect the community as it has for more than 50 years.
Delivered in stages since March this year, the renovation brings a new look and feel to the entire club, including a fully renovated kitchen with new menu, plus a new lounge area with big screens for sports viewing.
St. George Venues Chief Executive Craig Epton is excited for the future of the venue, while understanding the importance of the club’s history within the Georges River community.
“Maso’s has been part of Mortdale for more than 50 years, and this renovation is about making sure it stays that way for the next 50,” Mr Epton said.
“We wanted to create a place locals are proud to call their own, whether they’re coming in for dinner with their family, catching the footy with mates or celebrating a milestone. The Boundary is exactly that. Your new local.”

What’s new at The Boundary
▪ The Boundary Bistro: The new menu brings together Modern Australian favourites and Italian classics, all cooked fresh in the new kitchen. Think sizzling garlic prawns, grain-fed steak, smashed burgers and hand-crumbed schnitzel, plus a weekly specials menu.
▪ Pizza Bar: Pizzas are back. The pizza bar has reopened with a brand new offering, from a classic Margherita to pepperoni with hot honey and the venue’s own loaded Boundary pizza.
▪ Sports Lounge: Two newly installed large-scale LED screens and dedicated seating for live sport coverage.
▪ Auditorium: Fully renovated and available for private celebrations, community events and corporate functions.
▪ The Boundary Lager: A smooth, easy-drinking house beer available exclusively at the venue.
▪ Amenities: Brand-new bathrooms and a dedicated parents’ room, designed with families in mind.

Venue Manager Wayne Nolland said the team was looking forward to welcoming both long-time members and new faces.
“Our members have been fantastic throughout the renovation, and we’re grateful for their patience while the work was underway,” Mr Nolland said. “If you haven’t been in for a while, now’s the time to come and see the difference for yourself.”
To celebrate the launch, The Boundary is running two member promotions throughout October. In the Bistro, members can enjoy a $10 Chicken Schnitzel, served with chips, coleslaw and a choice of sauce, available seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
Members can also win cash on The Half Mil Wheel, with a $10,000 cash jackpot on offer. Five members are drawn every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night in October. Entries are earned by swiping at the rewards kiosks, with bonus entries for spending $20 or more on food and drinks in a single transaction.
Since opening its doors in 1969 as the St. George Masonic Club, the venue has supported local sporting clubs and community groups, including through the ClubGRANTS program. The $5 million renovation is part of that same commitment, investing back into community facilities so the club can keep serving Mortdale for decades to come.
